Description
This hand-thrown ceramic microwave egg cooker can handle up to two eggs, and it’s my husband’s favorite product! He uses it to cook eggs on the weekends for delicious and relatively mess-free egg and sausage breakfast sandwiches. It only takes a minute or two in the microwave to scramble or poach eggs, or mix up a nice omelette! No need for added butter, and the cooker clean ups quickly and easily either by hand or in the dishwasher. Beautiful addition to your morning routine. Makes a great housewarming or wedding gift.
Approx. 4″ diameter and 3″ high. This listing is for one (1) egg cooker. Cooks up to two eggs.
Poached Eggs:
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 egg
- salt and pepper to taste
Add 2 tablespoons of water to the egg cooker.
Crack the egg and add it to the water.
Prick the yolk with a fork.
Add lid to cooker and microwave for one minute. Check egg to insure it’s cooked. Microwave another 30 seconds if needed.
If the egg falls apart when removing, add a touch of lemon or vinegar to the water for future eggs.
Be careful when taking the egg cooker from the microwave! It does get hot!
Scrambled Eggs:
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- salt and pepper to taste
Add all ingredients to the cooker and whisk with a fork.
Add lid to egg cooker and microwave for 30 seconds.
Remove from microwave and whisk again.
Repeat until fully cooked. Depending on the microwave, this takes about 1 to 2.5 minutes.
Be careful when taking the egg cooker from the microwave! It does get hot!
You can also use this recipe to make an omelette by adding in ingredients such as a tablespoon of cheese, chives, or red pepper.
Every piece made by Kairos Klay is unique. No two pieces are exactly the same. Each piece is marked with the Kairos Klay stamp and year made. All functional ware sold by Kairos Klay is lead-free and food, microwave, and dishwasher safe.
As these are hand-made pieces, please be aware that colors and shapes may vary according to changes in light and differences in screen resolution. This is especially true on cell phone or tablet devices, as these devices artificially enhance photos. Although I strive for consistency in my work, please note that sizes are approximate, and may vary slightly.
RETURNS: I do offer returns (except for discounted items), but because I am such a small shop, I cannot refund shipping charges.
PHOTOS: Photos are of the actual items for sale, unless otherwise noted in the listing. I do use LED photography lighting to standardize my photos and show detail (I work in a fairly dim basement), but I don’t use any color filters in my photography. It is always my goal to accurately represent my product, which is why I take new photos with every shop update. The best way to view my products is on a laptop or PC.
SHIPPING: If you purchase multiple items, I combine shipping wherever possible. There are some items I don’t combine shipping on, such as utensil holders, for the safety of the item. Your cart automatically adjusts the shipping charges when purchasing multiple items, lowering the overall cost of your purchase. Although the cart usually does a good job of adjustment, I also refund shipping overages on multiple items in the event they overcharge.
SAFETY: I’ve been using my products in my own house daily for nearly ten years. My family tests each new product type I create before I list it in my shop, and I have a certification in ceramic product safety. All of my glazes are free from lead, barium, and cadmium, and are tested for leaching and durability.
